 Your First Visit
At the first visit to the orthodontist, diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment.
Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination; plaster study models
of the teeth, and photos of the patient's face and teeth. This information is used to develop a custom
treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the
teeth move under orthodontic care.
Regular Appointments
The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours.
You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes.
Our regular office hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:15 AM to 4:30 PM with a lunch break between 1:00-2:00 for the Dallas office. Coppell hours are Monday and Wednesday from 8:00-5:00 also with a lunch between 1:00-2:00. Patients are seen by appointment only.
We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you
cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult
to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.
Payment & Office Policies
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and
payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no-down-payment
option.
Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established
this financial policy:
- If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount.
- To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over the length of treatment with no interest.
- For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, Discover and MasterCard.
- In cases of serious delinquency, treatment will be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate
patients with temporary difficulties.
Insurance
A break-down of all applicable fees will be discussed, in full, during your initial
examination. Please know that we will accommodate you in anyway we can, that
is
why we tailor to you and your needs when setting up the contract. We give you
a payment option form that has two general ways of setting up your contract,
if for any reason you need to arrange the contract more in line with your financial
needs, please do not hesitate to discuss that with us.
We would like to inform you ahead of time that we do not submit insurance.
It is very important that you check with your insurance company before starting
treatment to see if your personal plan covers orthodontics. If your plan will
cover orthodontics, then we will supply you with the form you need to submit
to the insurance company.
It is your responsibility to let us know before treatment is started that
you will need a claim form. We have noticed that some insurance companies need
a claim form per visit. If this is the case for your insurance company, we
will need to know this ahead of time, also.
We will try our best to accommodate you with any insurance needs possible.
If you have any questions, please call our office and speak with Michelle Cornwell,
our Insurance Coordinator.
